The publication of a book is a no-joke process. It can take years for a book to be published. For less fortunate writers they might not even get to see their book published or their book might not be published at all.

First of all a book manuscript will need the support of editors. An editor in a publishing house who is in charge of new books will first have to deal with settling the rights of the writer to the book. He will then have to make other senior editors to consider the book and to take the book under their wing so to speak. Together with the senior editors, the other personnel who will invest on the book will be the marketing personnel and other investors. Once the book is reviewed and approved it will be sent for printing.
During the publishing the pages of the book will be printed out. This is also the stage when the book will have a cover made. Depending on the process chosen by the writer, the book can have a paperback cover or a hardbound cover. There are different types of book covers but basically they are all for binding the book together.
Once the book is ready copies will be sent to bookstores where the people can buy them. Not all books become successfully sold out by buyers. There are books that are returned to the publishers when they are no longer saleable. Some of these returned books can later be sold in discounted prices but for other books that remain unsold they are grounded up into small pieces so they can be recycled and thus be used again for further publication.
